Mandala Artists

Creative Artwork for Balancing and Healing Body, Mind, and Spirit

Artists are a unique group ~ my brother calls us "special"~ and Mandala Artists are an even more unique group within the general group of artists!

Have you ever felt like it was difficult to explain to people what a Mandala is, or what it "does"? I felt that way when I first started studying Mandalas, and I also felt like I was in a group of people that was at best a great minority. When you did a Google search at that time, almost 10 years ago, it yielded 18 results if I remember correctly!

Now, of course, more people have heard of Mandalas, but many still do not understand the properties or characteristics that make Mandala Art so powerful.

There are a couple of articles on my website ( that try to explain these... but there is nothing better than experiencing it for yourself!

I remember seeing a quote once, by MC Escher, that stated "I'm walking around all by myself here." I thought to myself, "Oh my Gosh! Someone else ( an artist at that! ) has felt exactly as I feel!"

In addition, I would notice when I attended Mandala workshops, I always felt "at home", with "my people" at last!
I was learning about myself through the process of learning Mandala Art!

So. I have decided to create an online community of like minded people: to meet, support and encourage one another as we go about our journeys here... in order to not feel like we are "walking around all by ourselves" so to speak.

Thanks for looking in,

Hello Linda!

Thanks for you interest and for joining the group. I'm one of Paul's students too! I've invited him to join, but he's out of town at the moment, so maybe we'll see him and some of his beautiful work on the site soon.

Have a great day!!
Namaste'! Janine

I'm thrilled to find another mandala group. I've been making mandalas for about 6 or 7 years now. I started out with coloring book mandalas, graduated to Luminous mandalas (Judith Cornell) and for the past 4 years I'm painting and teaching acrylic mandalas on canvas in the Paul Huessenstamm method (see I know what you mean by feeling at home in mandala workshops. That is the main reason I still attend them, and started teaching them, to be with like minded kindred spirits if only for a few days or hours. They "get" me. Thanks for creating the group. Linda
